The realms of the earth

INTRODUCTION
The earth has the most suitable environment
has three major components that we can
realms of the earth-land or lithosphere, water
or hydrosphere and air or atmosphere. These
component under suitable climate make it
possible for all life forms to exist in a narrow
zone of contact between these three realms.
This narrow zone is called the biosphere. The
biosphere makes the unique as no other planet
or celestial body, as we know today, has life on
it.
LITHOSPHERE

The lithosphere is the land on which we live. It

is the solid outer layer of the earthy consisting
of rock and soil. The uppermost layer of the
lithosphere is called crust. The crust is made
up of two layers-the upper layer is called sial
and the lower layer is called sima. Sial has
rocks rich in silicon and aluminium while sima
has rocks rich in silicon and aluminium.
HYDROSPHERE
The hydrosphere consist of water bodies such as
oceans, seas and lakes, ice sheet's, underground
water and water vapour present in the
atmosphere.
ATMOSPHERE

The layer of the air surrounding the earth is called

atmosphere.
Composition of the atmosphere
(1) Nitrogen
(2) Oxygen
(3) Hydrogen, Helium and other gases
(4) carbon dioxide
BIOSPHERE

A narrow belt between the lithosphere, the

hydrosphere and the atmosphere in which all
forms of life exist is called biosphere. It is the
most important realms of the earth. It is very
important to protect and preserve the
biosphere.
