KLEENEX TISSUES

ADRIAN M. & ELSA P.

GOAL FOR PROJECT
Our group wanted to accomplish a better prototype
box that has less wasted space, less box material
used and an overall more environmentally
beneficial box.
Old vs New
USED AIR-SPACE
BEFORE: USED AIR-SPACE- 81%, 9% UNUSED

AFTER: USED AIR-SPACE- 100%, 0% UNUSED

We wanted to make sure to eliminate any wasted space

in the box. We were able to by making the box 2.5 cm
smaller in height.
TISSUE VOLUME
We were able to fit the same amt. of tissues in our
new box than the original tissue box.

TISSUE VOL- 1,380 cm^3

Before: After:

=Unused
Air space
=Tissue
Volume
ORIGINAL & NEW PACKAGE VOLUME&SA
OLD PACKAGE VOL.- 1,718.8 cm^3

NEW PACKAGE VOL.- 1,375 cm^3

We reduced the volume of the package by 343.8 cm^3

We reduced surface area by 21.76cm^2.

Changes that we made:
We eliminated 19% of the access
air space
We made it so that the box is still
able to stack on store shelves
Shortened the box by 2.5 cm
We decreased the volume and
surface area of the box. 12.5cm 10 cm
BENEFITS FOR CONSUMER AND PRODUCER
We made it so the company is saving their
material, the less product (cardboard)
being used the more product is available to
use for more kleenex boxes.
It is using less product so there is less
material ending up at the dump.
The consumer is getting exactly what they
are paying for because there is no wasted
space.
The difference in boxes isnt too drastically
different so it wont lead customers away.
WHY WE CHOSE KLEENEX?
We decided to do the kleenex box because it is something we
use often (especially during the cold weather and in the
classroom) and enjoy a lot. We wanted to make sure that the
producers of Kleenex were getting more benefits from this new
prototype and the consumers were getting exactly what they
are paying for. Thank you for taking the time to listen to
our presentation!

PS Thanks for using it Mr. Trenfield
