Functionalist approach:
 Functionalism is one of the major theoretical perspectives of sociology.
 Its role is to link every part of society to each other and maintain stability in
society.
 Functions are divided into two types: symptomatic functions are intentional and
obvious, while latent is the opposite.
 Furthermore, functionalism does not encourage people to play an active role.
