Character archetypes
The Hero- He suffers from
ADHD and dyslexia and was an
outcast. Percy Jackson is the
hero that completes his quest
and gives zeus back his bolt. He
earns his respect from
demigods.
Loyal Retainer- Grover is the
loyal retainer. He is half man and
half goat. He protects Percy
regardless of what the situation
is and sticks with him. He also
believes in him and never lets
him down.
Character Archetypes
Damsel in Distress- Sally
jackson is Percy jackson’s
mother and is trapped in the
underworld by hades and can’t
do anything about it. They use
her as a way to get Percy to
listen to him.
The mentor- The mentor is Mr.
Brunner, he helps Percy
understand what is going on and
makes sure he is fine. He is like a
father to percy and gives him
the riptide.
Character Archetypes
The devil figure- Luke is the devil figure
that plants the lightning bolt in the
shield that he gives perseus when he
first leaves to his quest. He also tries to
kill him near the end.
Threshold guardian- She gives Percy a
tough time to see what he’s made of
before the journey begins. She takes
care of percy and grover.
Hero Journey
Departure: He gets attacked by his teacher when zeus accused him of stealing the
bolt. He then has to go to camp half blood where he would be safe but refuses to go
when he realizes that his mother can't go in with him.

Initiation: This is when he goes inside camp half blood and realizes that he is a
demigod and begins to learn about his powers.
Hero’s Journey
The road of trials: THe road of trials are all of the monsters he has to fight and has to
overcome to get to his mother. He has to fight them with Annabeth and Grover.

The innermost Cave: This is when they confront hades in the underworld and then
they have to fight Ares, the god of war,and saves his mother.

Reintegration with society: this is when he defeats luke and gives zeus his bolt back
and is recognized by the hero after zeus wanted him dead. His family is finally save
again and everyone respects him at camp half blood.
Symbolic Archetypes

Magic Weapon- THe magic weapon is the sword that Mr. Brunner
gives percy that protects him and helps him fight evil.

Heaven vs Hell- The underworld where hades is in this story is hell

and heaven is olympus where all the gods are.

Water vs Desert- Water gives percy strength and makes him

stronger and helps him defeat his foes and him not having water
makes him vulnerable .

 Character archetypes
The hero- Anna is the hero that has to save her everyone from the
eternal winter that is going. She also helps her sister control her powers
and never gives up on her even when she pushed her away. She also dies
trying to save her sister but eventually is revived.

Damsel In Distress- Elsa is the damsel in distress because she is very

vulnerable and isolates herself because she is afraid of her powers and
builds a castle and stays there on her own.
Character Archetypes
The temptress- Hans is considered the temptress because he makes
Anna fall in love with him but eventually tries to kill both Anna and
Elsa to try and take over the kingdom.

Young man from the Provinces- Kristoff was raised by Trolls and
while he was working he found Anna and helps her throughout her
journey and comes up with solutions to problems.
Character Archetypes

Mentor-pupil: The trolls are considered mentors and mentor pupils

because they help and explain how to help Anna when she was shot
by Elsa’s power. They are considered mentor pupils because they
raised Kristoff.
Character Archetypes

The Earth’s mother- Olaf would be considered the earth's mother

because he supports the whole group emotionally when they are
feeling sad or like giving up. He brightens the day up and helps
everyone around him.

The friendly Beast- The friendly beast would be considered Sven,

the Reindeer, because he helps and supports the group throughout
the entire movie.

Group of companions- Anna had the people that she met during her
adventure and they were loyal to her and made sure they stayed
together.

Creature of nightmare- The creature of nightmare is the ice monster

that Elsa made that protects her and her kingdom.It tries to kill
Anna and her friends.
Hero’s Journey

Departure- Anna tries to find Elsa after Elsa exposes her powers to
the whole city and fled. While fleeing she caused a huge snow storm
and the city was struggling to keep everyone warm.

Initiation- The hero and her group of companions had to go through

the mountains with a snowstorm going on and had to surpass the
barriers that faced them to get to Elsa's castle.

Road of trials-Upon arriving to the castle they found elsa and they
spoke to her about going back home and restoring everything back
to normal but Elsa didn't want to go back so she made a ice monster
and the monster tries to kill Anna and her companions. Anna had to
become resourceful and made it out alive

The innermost cave: The innermost cave is when they go to the trolls home and they
tell Anna how to get cured after being shot by her sister’s powers. They tell her that
true love stops the spell that her sister gave her. She begins to realize how much she
really cares about Kristoff. They help Anna Mentally and spiritually.

Return and reintegration with society- Once Anna was fully frozen while trying to
save Elsa, she feels bad and begins crying and that brings Anna back to life because
true love is what stops the spell. It also saves the city and all the people in it from
freezing to death.
Symbolic Archetypes
Light Vs. Darkness- The darkness in this movie would be Elsa not being able to
control her powers and almost destroying everything she loves. The light would be
Anna and Elsa coming together to try and control elsa’s power.

Magic weapon- The magic weapon in this movie is Elsa’s ice power. It’s the only way
that everyone could’ve been saved. They needed her power to stop the storm and
save everyone even though she didn’t know how to control it.

The castle- The castle in this movie is where Elsa goes and hides to make sure she
didn't hurt anyone again and made a ice monster to protect her.Elsa had to go there
to try and get her help.
