• Limited by the Lengupá fault to the NW and Tesalia fault to the SE
high-angle (70-80 °) and reverse faults, inclined toward NW. • Tear faults with short displacement perpendicular and sub-parallel to Tesalia and lengupá faults • Mudstone strata in continuous succession • Vertical and inverted layers due to the effect of Thessaly and Lengupá faults. IMPLICATIONS IN PETROLEUM EXPLORATION • Interconnected sandy bodies and low amounts of muddy matrix. • Does not exhibit intense diagenetic processes • The low level deposits (LST) of the ST2 sequence constitute an excellent reservoir of hydrocarbons. • There are the sandstones of Mirador, San Luis de Gaceno and San Antonio with granulometry from coarse to very coarse and conglomerates of granules, friable with significant porosities. • The low level system of the SK7 Sequence is an interesting exploratory aim. • It is considered that much of the oil of Cusiana could originate in the FM Mudstone of Aguacaliente of marine origin; rich in organic matter, intercalations of sandstone and phosphatic micrite and abundant pyrite. • Another exploratory objective is FM Sandstone of San Antonio with 214.8 m thickness fine and medium sand to coarse and very coarse sand in the upper • Chipaque Formation with 565 m thick, organic matter of marine and estuarine environments with abundant plant is the main source rock. • The upper part of the Une Formation is not discarded as an exploratory option. CONCLUSIONS • The FM Guaduas only surface the lower 59 m due to intense erosion that eliminated most of the unit. • The sandstones of the FM Socha Inferior overlap discordantly to the Guaduas Formation and concordanly lies under the Socha Superior Formation • In the stratigraphic sequence we do not observe incisions and fillings of river valleys in the platform or deposits of ocean depths overlapped by submarine fans. • The FM’s Brechas de Buenavista, Calizas Del Guavio and Lutitas de Macanal are proposed as SK1 sequence. The SK2 FM Sequence are Arenita de las Juntas and Fómeque; In the SK3 Sequence 1st lower part of the Une Formation and in the SK4 Sequence the upper part of the Une Formation. • It is thought that the sequences SK5, SK6 and SK7 correspond to the global cycles of Haqetal. (1987, 1988). • In Socha Inferior Alloformation, FM Mirador, Upper Guadalupe Alloformation and Lower Guadalupe Alloformation, those are quartzites • Mudstones aguacaliente are proposed as an optimal rock, source of hydrocarbons of marine origin in the study area. • The exploratory objective is the conglomeratic sand of the upper part of the FM Une and the sandstones from fine to very fine sand interspersed within the mudstone of FM Chipaque.
