do it?
• The 5-S refers to the five
Japanese words that
define a new attitude
toward the physical
organization of a
workplace or area.

• It’s purpose is to provide a


structure for a safe and
productive work area.
5S
1. Seri - All unneeded tools, parts and supplies are removed from
the area.

2. Seiton - A place for everything and everything is in its place.

3. Seiso - The area is cleaned as the work is performed.

4. Seiketso- Cleaning and identification methods are consistently


applied.

5. Sustain - 5S is a habit and is continually improved.


5-S Implementation would help the company reduce WASTE hidden in
the plant, improve the levels of QUALITY and SAFETY, reduce the
LEAD TIME and COST, and thus increase company PROFIT.
