AMPERE METER

Ampere meter, ammeter often

called is a device used to measure
electric current
TYPE
ANALOG
DIGITAL
Depending on the constructing principle, there are many types of
ammeter we get. are mainly :

1. PERMANENT MAGNET MOVING COIL (PMMC) ammeter

2. MOVING IRON (MI) ammeter
3. ELECTRODYNAMOMETER type ammeter
4. RECTIFIER type ammeter

Depending on this types of measurement we do, we have

1. DC Ammeter
2. AC Ammeter
PMMC ammeter

The permanent magnet moving coil instrument (PMMC)

type instrument uses two permanent magnets in order to
create stationary magnetic field.
PARTS AND FUNCTION
How it works ?
RANGE

On ammeters are not only current

measurement range is generally one mA, 10
mA, 50 mA, 100 mA. Changes helpful range
to get the result of careful measurement.
Power Supply Operating Temperature Storage
Voltage (average) Range Temperature
80-264 V 0o – 60o C -40o – 75o C
HOW TO USE
MAINTENANCE
Do not ever connect ammeters
ANALOG directly to source voltage
Check the proper polarity
If want to use a summary
ammeters with a double , first
use a summary of the top and
then lower it to obtain a
deflection or deviation .
Do not measure the magnitude
DIGITAL
of strong currents exceeding
the maximum capacity limit
pairs of bridge shunt in parallel
so that a comparatively strong
currents greater than its
capacity maximum
store it in a safe , clean and
dry
Do not wind the cord too tight
SAFETY
 Ammeter must always be connected in series
with a tested series
 Always start with the highest range of an
ammeter
 Disconnect the power from the first circuit
before connecting and disconnecting ammeter
 In DC ammeters, observe proper polarity circuit
to prevent the meter is not damaged
 Never use a DC ammeter to measures AC
current.
