INDUSTRY

Introduction:-

• Three dimensional mapping is used to monitoring mine safety and

activity.

• High resolution three dimensional scanners are used to monitor the mine
24 hours.
Objective:-

• To reduce the accidents in mine by using 3D mapping scanners

• 3D mapping is used to develop the mine

• To improve the production with safety

Instruments used for 3D mapping:-

• Laser scanning system

• Cart mounted laser scanner

• Drone cameras (new innovation in mines)

Drone camera:-

• Drone camera used to capture images for mapping at hilly areas

• Drone cameras are used to capture the images of open cat mines

• Drone is used to develop the mine

• Drone can show the slopes in mines in three dimension also

• Each drone camera is used to capture upto 30 minutes

• Drone camera has 75km/hour

• It can fly upto 200 meters

Laser scanner:-

• Site monitor fixed laser scanning system measures changes in slopes and
rock faces
• Laser scanners are used to scan the mine 24 hours a day

• Laser scanners are used to do survey in underground mines and

they provide online reporting and monitor from any where in the
world through internet

• Laser scanners are also used to know the stability of rock faces
and slopes to improve mine safety

• Laser scanners has long range upto 6000 meters

• Laser scanners has accuracy of 10mm

• It provides an early warning of abnormal movement and

potential failures in active mining area
Cart mounted laser scanners:-

• Cart mounted scanners bring new dimensions in mines

• It scans safely existing workings in mines

• It can be operates working from outside control of the mine

Field study:-

• Rio tinto company has implemented a new innovation of 3D mapping by

using drone cameras

• Laser scanners are used to monitor the field 24 hours

• Cart mounted laser scanner is used to scan in under ground mines

Advantages:-

• It improves the production in mines

• 3D mapping indicates the slope, fault e.t.c.

• Laser scanners are used to scan the mine

• Indicates the accidents may occur

Conclusion:-
