Project Title

Stair Climbing Vehicle

For Lame Person.
The concept of stair climbing vehicle was developed
when we thought about lame person who is unable
climb the stairs of building . This stair Climbing
vehicle is very useful to such person.
Stair climbing vehicle is nothing but the
wheel chair which has some mechanical arrangements
and linkages are provided to climb the overall chair
with the person who is lamed.
Because of this type of vehicle the lamed
person survives independently. So we are producing
this stair climbing vehicle.
1) To encourage lamed person to survive independently .
2) To develop a mechanism for carrying load easily over
stairs
Part List
1) WHEEL CHAIR.
2) 4 LOBES.
3) BREAKS.
4) HANDLE.
5) CHAINS , LEAVERS AND MECHANICAL
LINKAGES.
6) RUBBER GRIPERS.
7) SCREW
CONSTRUCTION
While the construction of stair climbing vehicle . All the
basic information is taken like calculations , imaginary
analysis for the all operations which are going to perform
on the vehicle.
By using some mechanical linkages and mechanisms
the construction of stair climbing vehicle is done.

 Mechanisms used in the stair climbing vehicle are as

below.

1) Lifting Mechanism.
2) Breaking Mechanism.
3) Power Transmission Mechanism.
Operations
1) DESIGN.
2) CALCULATIONS.
3) CUTTING.
4) DRILLING.
5) WELDING.
6) FINISHING.
It works normally when it runs on floor.
For climbing stairs it uses two mechanisms.
1) Lifting Mechanism:-
in lifting mechanism it lifts the
primary tyre and lowers the lobes for climbing
stairs.
2) Secondary power transmission system:-
This system is implanted in wheel chair
to make it able to climb the stairs . It consist of
lobes which are driven by secondary power
transmission system. Which is mainly designed to
give the power to the lobes.
ADVANTAGES
1) It allows lame person to climb stair and be
independent .
2) It does not uses any external power source .
3) It mainly runs on muscular energy.
4) It has long life and less maintenance .
