Teaching Accommodations
Special Accomodations
Out of the 71 students, 6 of them require
an IEP, and 3 of them require an ELL. Mrs.
Stout receives IEP at a glance for each
student which includes goals,
modifications for special education
students, and learning plans for the ELL
students. Students receive modifications
for tests like more time aloud, having the
test read aloud, and even less answers
on the test questions (2 choices instead
of 4).

Personal Thoughts
◦ After observing this week and last, I know understand what it is like to go through lesson
planning based on students individual needs, and how as a teacher, I will have to plan
accordingly for those students. Mrs. Stout models positive reinforcement with the
students, which I believe is the most important thing to be modeled. Students are given
rewards if questions are answered correctly and praised for being involved with the
lessons each day. Mrs. Stout models these behaviors every day.
Questions for Mrs. Stout
1. How do you know exactly which standards to teach the students each day?
2. Where do your resources like worksheets, power points, and other assignments come
from?
3. How do you come up with your lesson plans and how do you know to modify them
based on each students IEP?
