General Objective:
At the end of the 15-minute lecture-discussion, the
students will be able to acquire an in depth knowledge and
understanding about Influenza A(H1N1).
Specific Objectives:
1. To define Influenza A(H1N1).
2. To identify the causative organism.
3. To name the signs and symptoms of the disease.
4. To appreciate the importance prevention and control the
disease.
5. To enumerate the things to do when there is a suspected
case at home.
6. To recognize the emergency warning signs that need
immediate attention.
Description
• Novel influenza A (H1N1)
is a new flu virus of swine
origin that was first
detected in April, 2009 that
may lead to death.
• A subtype of influenza
virus A
• Lack of appetite
• Runny Nose
• Sore Throat
• Cough
• Some cases have reported having
diarrhea, nausea & vomiting
Mode of Transmission
• Exposure to droplets from
the cough and sneeze of
the infected person.
