AIM AND OBJECTIVES
• AIM
The aim of the project is to determine the
physico-chemical parameters of sachet water
consumed in Bayero University Kano, Old
campus.
• OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the project is to determine the
values of pH, conductivity and HCO3- of the
sachet water consumed in BUK, old campus.
METHODOLOGY
• Material and reagents

• Sampling

• Measurement of pH

• Measurement of conductivity

• Determination of HCO3-

CONCLUSION
• The result obtained from the assessment shows
that the pH, conductivity and temporary
hardness of all the samples are within the
acceptable range of portable drinking water
according to World Health Organization. Except
for S6 which has pH of 5.44, which is below the
acceptable range according to World Health
Organization (WHO).The water samples can be
used for human consumption and industrial
purposes.
RECOMMENDATION
• Based on the research conducted, it`s clearly
showed that the sachet water consumed in Buk
old campus was portable to drink. As such, it`s
recommended that consumption of sachet water
will be of great importance for human health.
• It`s also recommended that in future research
physico-chemical analysis is very important in
order to determine the purity of water so as to
reduce drinking contaminated water.
