CELL PHONE OF

FUTURE
-Nokia Morph Cell
Phone
Introduction:
 Nokia has developed a
new idea by using
nanotechnology by
collaborating with
Cambridge University of
UK.This new idea is called
MORPH,which will be the
material that makes up
futuristic cellphone that
could be as elastic as
possible and
transformable to any
shape to suit to the user
need.
Contd…………
 Morph takes the main advantage that
could be delievered using
nanotechnology ,which would embark on
three major features that you will never
find on today’s cellphone:flexible
materials ,transparent electronics and
self –cleaning surfaces.
Nokia Morph concept
 Morph is a concept that
demostrates how future
mobiles devices might
be strechable and
flexible ,allowing their
user to transforms
their mobiles into
radically different
shapes.The main idea is
centered around where
nanotechnology can
produce materials that
are super flexible which
can change into any
form.
Contd……………
 The super flexibility
and elasticity is not
related to body or
case of mobile,but it
also involves the
electronic
components lying
inside ,which are
stretchable,transpar
ent to suit itself to
any user.
Different shapes of

Contd……….
 Nanotechnology enables materials and components
that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and
remarkably strong. Fibril proteins are woven into a
three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic
structures. Using the same principle behind spider
silk, this elasticity enables the device to literally
change shapes and configure itself to adapt to the
task at hand.

 A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and could

lend itself ergonomically to being used as a traditional
handset. An unfolded larger design could display more
detailed information, and incorporate input devices
such as keyboards and touch pads.
Contd……………
 For eg: it can start in the
shape of cell phone,but then
unfolded into screen to view
movies and other media.This
larger screen would
incorporate input devices
such as keyboards and touch
pads as well to allow for
communication .It could then
be folded up into bracelet
that you can wear on your
wrist .As Nokia says:The
Morph would allow us to
communicate and interact in
unprecedented ways.

Opportunites for other
mobile

devices:
Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials
blend more seamlessly with the way we live
 Devices become self-cleaning and self-preserving
 Transparent electronics offering an entirely new
aesthetic dimension
 Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst
batteries become smaller, longer lasting and faster to
charge
 Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more
about the environment around us, empowering us to
make better choice
Conclusion:
 Morph still needs couple of years to
work before it comes true as the main
building material for cell phones.The
prediction is morph devices would only
surface and be used among high end
cellphones in about 7 years’ time. And
hoping that one day may lead to lower
cost of manufacturing in nanotechnology
for incorporating Morph into cheaper
phone models.
