• Manure can be used by farmers as well as for
domestic use this will help to grow economy in two
ways
• Capital generated by selling manure .
• Improve fertility of soil.
ENERGY GENERATION
HOW TO PRODUCE ENERGY FROM
WASTE
• The most common and popular method for waste to
energy generation is ‘Incineration’.
• In simple terms the waste is collected and burnt at
high temperatures.
• Treatment of waste at high temperatures is called
Thermal treatment.
• The heat generated from this thermal temperature is
then used to create energy.

GOVERNMENT SCHEMES FOR
WASTE MANAGEMENT
• Solid waste management Scheme-The State
government’s solid waste management scheme will be implemented in
263 village panchayats of Virudhunagar district. Vehicles to transport the
garbage and tools for collection would be provided for those involved in
garbage clearance. A segregation yard would be constructed at a cost of
Rs. two lakh in all selected panchayats . Under the efforts to make
panchayats open defecation-free, 125 individual toilets and two sanitary
complexes for men and women had been constructed which had already
qualified as open defecation-free panchayat. govt appealed to the people
to keep their surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding. Overhead
tanks supplying drinking water to villages should be cleaned once in 15
days and people should approach the nearest government hospital for
treatment of viral fever. They should prevent water stagnation around
their homes. He also advised them not to use plastic products that were
hazardous to the environment.
E-WASTE DISPOSAL SCHEME
‘E-waste' means waste electrical and electronic equipment,
whole or in part or rejects from their manufacturing and
repair process, which are intended to be discarded. The
concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) has been
enshrined in these rules. As per these Rules the producers are
required to collect e-waste generated from the end of life of
their products by setting up collections centers or take back
systems either individually or collectively. The e-waste
recycling can be undertaken only in facilities authorized and
registered with State Pollution Control Boards/Pollution
Control Committees.
SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN
The objectives of Swachh Bharat are to reduce
or eliminate open defecation through the
construction of individual, cluster and
community toilets. The Swachh Bharat mission
will also make an initiative of establishing an
accountable mechanism of monitoring latrine
use. The government is aiming to achieve an
Open-Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2 October
2019, the 150th anniversary of the birth of
Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing 12 million
toilets in rural India, at a projected cost of ₹1.96
lakh crore.

It is a Gurgaon based startup that is focussed on collecting
paper waste and market the same to paper recycling
plants for further use. Its services include, Office Recycling,
Security Shredding, Recycling bins. The start initially
focuses on Corporate offices, followed by school/colleges
and households as primary customers.
• LET'S RECYCLE:
It is an initiative of NEPRA Resource management Pvt. Ltd., a social
enterprise that operates in segment of Dry Waste Management and
Recycling, where it collects Dry Waste from Waste generators and segregates
the recyclables and sends to authorized recyclers. It currently provides
employment to 302 employees, comprising of 76 women. It has ragpickers of
1076.
