INTRODUCTION
• Menopause is the cessation of ovulation caused by the
absence of an oocyte response to the ovaries (ovaries)
characterized by a decrease in the hormones estrogen and
progesterone.
• Menopausal women or even peri-menopause become
anxious about their life partner, namely husband. Menopausal
or peri-menopausal women will become insecure.
• There are a number of complaints that arise in women who
enter menopause such as physical changes such as health
problems namely experiencing joint pain, hair loss or problems
in the reproductive organ system makes the respondent feel
anxious.

OBJECTIVES

• To identify and explain about the symptom of


menopause
• Explore their internet utility in searching health
information through internet

METHODE
• At this stage the study was conducted to identify the
characteristics of menopausal women aged 55 years and
over.
• This study took place in 2 villages, namely Sampangan and
Bendan Ngisor, Semarang City.
• This study is explanatory research with a cross-sectional
study design.

• This study examined
• the socio-demographic characteristic,
• Menopause Rating Scale (including physiological and
psychological perception on menopause) and
• the accessibility toward health information by using
internet.
• The data was collected by interviewing respondent base
on the structured questionnaire.

• Menopause Rating Scale The Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) is a health-


related quality of life scale (HRQoL) and was developed in response to the
lack of standardized scales to measure the severity of aging-symptoms.

Demographics characteristic

• This study found that the average age of


menopause women was 63.49 + 7.04
• The majority finished from senior high school and
bachelor degree.

The menopause rating scale

• The Menopause Rating Scale showed that in


general the score was 23.39 + 8.08 out of maximum
score 55 points.
• The physiological score was 18.66 + 8.10 out of
maximum score 45 points and
• the psychological score was 13.84 + 6.78 out of 35
points.

The health information access

• This study found that 56.90% of respondents


able to access internet by using portable
phone.
• However, it was only less than 10% who access
internet to search health information by using
internet.

Conclusion

• This study found that the MRS score was a


lower than median score for each indicator.
• The internet access to search health
information was very low.
