We had our six weeks training from Auribises Technologies, Ludhiana. Auribises offers a su

Introduction to Project
The design and implementation of the system is to provide service in institute and colleges
. The system is to provide comprehensive student information system and user interface is
to replace the current paper records. College Staff uploads attendance and internals throug
h an online interface using android devices. All data is thoroughly reviewed and validated
on the server before actual record alteration occurs. All data is stored securely on SQL serv
ers managed by the college Administrator. The system decreases paperwork and time need
ed to access student records. Previously, college relied heavily on paper records for this init
iative which had its own disadvantages. This system provides a simple interface for the mai
ntenance of student information. It can be used by educational institutes or colleges to ma
intain the records of students easily. Achieving this objective is difficult using a manual syst
em as the information are scattered, can be redundant and collecting relevant information
may be very time consuming. Our proposed system ensures to overcome these limitations.
The paper focuses on presenting information in an easy and intelligible manner which prov
ides facilities like attendance monitoring, internal marks viewing thus reducing paper work
and automating the record generation process in an educational institution. There is an inc
reasing trend for higher education institutions to be expected to monitor student records.
This software generates reports on the results of research that considered the effect of atte
ndance on student performance; surveyed planning students about attendance issues.
Objectives of project
The main objective of the College Management System is to manage the details
of student’s internal marks as well as their attendance branch wise. The project is t
otally built at administrative end and thus only the administrator is guaranteed the
access.

2.5.1 Modules in the Project

1. User Module: In this module we are authenticating the users by providing usern
ame and password. If username and password is valid then they will be taken to th
eir screens.

2. Staff Module: This module is designed for staff, which uses mobile phone to take
attendance and upload internal marks. Only after successful authentication the ope
rations are performed. If username and password cannot match, he/she can enter i
n to attendance page.

3. Attendance Module: The purpose of Attendance Entry Module is to enter the att
endance using cell phone. In this module Lecturer takes the attendance using the c
ell phone. Lecturers select the branch, semester and year. After this session he ente
rs in to attendance page. Here staff makes a mark on the absentees.

4. Marks Entry Module: The marks scored by the students are stored in the databa
se through this module. The marks for each student is entered and submitted to st
ore in the database.
User Requirements
The basic requirement of this app is that the user must be having AN
DROID Operating System in his phone or tablet. The minimum versio
ns of Android Operating Systems must be ICE CREAM SANDWICH (A
ndroid 4.0). All the versions above ICE CREAM SANDWICH (i.e. Jelly B
ean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow) will support this app.

All the user has to do is just install the app and access the required i
nformation.

A). Hardware Requirement:-

1. Intel Quadcore 1.7 GHZ Processor or above.
2. Minimum 100 GB HD.
3. Minimum 4 GB of RAM.
4. Standard Keyboard and Serial Mouse.
B). Software Requirement
1. Android Studio.
2. GCM Server
3. SQL Server (Either on localhost/domain)
4. Android SDK (Minimum API 15)
Technologies Used
1. DATABASE

A database is a separate application that stores a collection of data. Each dat

abase has one or more distinct APIs for creating, accessing, managing, search
ing and replicating the data it holds. Other kinds of data stores can be used,
such as files on the file system or large hash tables in memory but data fetch
ing and writing would not be so fast and easy with those types of systems. S
o nowadays, we use relational database management systems (RDBMS) to sto
re and manage huge volume of data.

2 ANDROID:-

Android is a Software Package & Linux based Operating System on mobile de

vices such as Computer and Mobile phone. Android is developed by Google.
It uses Java Language to write the code but we can use other language. To cr
eate successful product that improve mobile experience for end user.

3 INTRODUCTION TO ANDROID STUDIO:-

Android Studio is the official Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for A

ndroid app development,. Android Studio offers even more features that enh
ance your productivity when building Android apps.

Future Scope

For all the s/w there is always a scope of future enhancements. There
are few enhancements which are pointed out in the proposed system
. They are as follows:

1. Module for Notice upload

2. Module for Result upload

3. Web Module for web interface. After all the future is Internet.

4. Integrated on line examination module for entrance exams.
