P/F: Poll/Final bit: P =1 for polling in unbalanced multipoint link; F: final frame SS Meaning

Unnumbered frames are used to set up connections, SABM, SABME, UA 01 Reject (NAK)
E: Extended; control field is two bytes; N(S), N(R) is 7 bits each. 10 RNR (x-off)
SABM: Set Asynchronous Balanced Mode 11 SREJ (Sel. Rej.)
UA: Unnumbered ACK
M bits in unnumbered frames indicate type of frame.
