Student Assessment

This literature sensitized us to range of


assessment issues. However, it provided few,
if any, definitive answers, because student
assessment in medical education remains a
controversial,hotly debated issue.
Test Design
– Making a formal presentation to a board of
education about how a controversial topic
– Designing and implementing a set of procedures
for choosing among three finalists for a teaching
position
– Observing a classroom teacher and preparing a
written record of the teacher’s performance for
the teacher’s personnel file
Focus of the Evaluation
We have targeted evaluation to the goals
indentified in chapter 1,namely :
1. Familiarity with problems inherent in future
professional role
2. Prossession of knowledge relevent to these
problems
3. Competence in applying this knowledge
4. Proficiency in problem-solving
5. Skill in implementing solutions to these problems
