Nature
• Definition:
– The basic or inherent features, character, or qualities of
something
– Something that human being cannot control

• Example:
– When baby are born, it is natural to have two hands
and two legs
Nurture
• Definition:
– Upbringing, education, and environment, contrasted
with inborn characteristics as an influence on or
determinant of personality

• Example:
– Institution infants learn to smile later than the family
infants when he compared the children reared in
families with children reared in institutions
Nature VS Nurture

Harris (1999) stated that the two things that


determine what sort of people your children
will turn out to be are nature – their genes –
and nurture – the way you bring them up.
