object BUT the other object exerts the same size force on the car.
These forces and be very large and dangerous.

A car is moving with a certain momentum p. In an accident it stops and loses


all the momentum so…

p = p-0 = p

But if the time to stop t is larger the force on the car F will be smaller.
Crumple zones increase t in a collision thus making the forces on the car
smaller.
