INTRODUCTION
• Limeroad is an online marketplace, owned by A. M.
Marketplaces Pvt Ltd. The company is based
in Gurgaon, Haryana.
• It is India's first women's social shopping website. It deals in
clothing and accessories for women, men and kids.
• The portal allows its users to create their own look on a virtual
scrapbook by using its products and also allows users to earn
from the scrapbook they create.

BACKGROUND
• Limeroad was co-founded in 2012 by Suchi Mukherjee,
Manish Saksena and Ankush Mehra as a fashion marketplace
for women.
• The company’s name is inspired from Grand Trunk Road.
• LimeRoad opened its first offline store in Surat, Gujarat in 2018.
• In May 2014, Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia was appointed
as the style director of LimeRoad.
• It competes with e-commerce companies such
as Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal, Myntra, Jabong, Roposo,
Wooplr and Voonik.
FUNDINGS
• In March 2018, The company raised a $ 30 million series C led
by Tiger Global, with other participation from Lightspeed
Venture Partners, and Matrix Partner
• Earlier, in May 2014, LimeRoad received the funding of US$ 15
million, led by Tiger Global, with participation from returning
investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Matrix Partners
India.
• In October 2012, the company had secured a $ 5 million Series
A funding round, led by the same investors.
PARTNERSHIP

• In December 2016, the company partnered with the Madhya


Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam, Government of Madhya
Pradesh to retail handloom and handicraft range of products on
its E- Commerce platform.
THE GROWTH
• The traffic has been up 10x since April 2013
• 600+ vendors, up 10x since April 13 (50% unique to LimeRoad)
• India accounts for $200bn (21%) of global manufacturing of
lifestyle
• 5x orders since January 2014 v/s 2x marketing
• Mobile a/c for 60% transactions
• LimeRoad strives to make the visuals best placed to transcend
vernacular.

• Quality of the team.

engagement metrics in the country, and the only company in the
country with exploding unique visual user generated content.

creating largest shopping platform for women in India
OTHER ACTIVITIES
• In October 2016, LimeRoad was partnered with Goonj
(NGO) and Facebook to launch an initiative called Mission: One
Crore: Pledge a saree, Pledge a smile. The initiative was
started with the purpose to collect one crore sarees, which was
donated to the underprivileged women in the country.

• Limeroad didn't disclose the team strength but is in the process
of expanding their teams mostly across technology and
sourcing.
• Regarding building a team, Such says, "People are our most

spike and with a strong can-do.
