ABOUT TOPIC
• Financial statement analysis is an evaluative method of determining the past,
current and projected performance of a company.
• Several techniques are commonly used as part of financial statement analysis
including horizontal analysis, vertical analysis and Ratio analysis.
• A ratio is defined as "the indicated quotient of mathematical expression" and as
"the relationship between two or more things".
• Ratio analysis is defined as the systematic use of the ratio to interpret the
financial statements.

• It is a multinational financial information provider headquartered in New York City,
United States.

companies, auditable company financials, M&A/financing transactions, public
offerings, corporate executives and board directors etc;

• Capital IQ hyd., a division of standard & poor’s was started as smart software
tech dev co., in 1993.
• There after smart software became subsidiary of simply stocks in 1997.
• In 2003 simply stocks was acquired by Capital IQ, New York which was founded in
1999 by Neal Goldman, Steve Turner and Randall Winn. They sold the business to
McGraw Hill in 2004
• In 2002 Capital IQ announced its 100th customer; in 2011
• In February 2016, it was announced that McGraw-Hill Financial would change its
name to S&P Global Inc. by the end of April 2016.
• The company officially changed its name following a shareholder vote on April 27,
2016.

PRIMARY DATA:
• The primary data for the research work is the first hand information in course of
interaction with the employees of the organization primary data. The primary data
has been collected from the personnel of the finance and related department of
S&P Capital IQdirectly by consulting them as and when required.
SECONDARY DATA:
• The secondary data is mainly depending upon the annual reports, Balance sheets and
some other documents provided by the organizations. Certain standard text books of
eminent authors were also referred for the purpose of theoretical backdrop of the
subject.
