What is termite proofing?

 Termite Proofing are the services to
eliminate the termite control and to
disintegrate its attack on to your house and on
the precious wood materials.
 Wood work is the important part of the
building.
 Wood work is often attacked and damaged by
termites
Types of termites
 Ground nesting termites

 Dry wood termites

Ground nesting termites
o These types of termites are
found in all regions of India.
o Mostly present in adequate
moisture places.
o Primary nest are formed in
soil.
o Secondary nest are formed
in wood.
Dry wood termites
 It is found in coastal regions
of South India.
 These termites live on wood
without any connection in
soil.
 They need humid condition.
 They live in small colonies
Pre-construction treatment
 Treatment should given
before completion of
construction work.
 It is done after excavation of
foundation.
 Not carried out in rainy
seasons.
 There are 8 stages followed,
according to the IS:6313(part
I and II).
Stage 5: junction of floor and wall should
be treated at rate of 15lit/sqm.
