• Helen Keller was born on 27th june 1880 in Tuscumbia

Alabama.
• Stricken by illness in 1882.

• Her father served as an officer in confederate Army
during civil war.
• Helen Keller started speaking at the age of six months
and started walking at the age of sixteen.

• In 1882 , Helen contracted an illness called “Brain
Fever”.
• It was first noticed by her mother.
• She was only nineteen years old when her mother first
encountered her disease.
• At the age of seven , she and her companion invented 60
signs to communicate.

1890.
• She took 25 years to learn to speak.
