MOTHER TERESA

Mother Teresa, also known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was a Catholic

nun and missionary known for her charitable work with the poor and sick in

Kolkata, India. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious

congregation dedicated to serving the most vulnerable members of society.

Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian

work. She passed away in 1997 and was canonized as a saint by the Catholic

Church in 2016.
HELEN KELLER

Helen Keller was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She

was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Keller became

deaf and blind as a result of an illness when she was a baby. Despite her

disabilities, she learned to communicate through sign language and went on to

become an advocate for people with disabilities. Keller’s autobiography, “The

Story of My Life," has inspired millions of people worldwide. She dedicated her

life to advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities and was awarded

the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1964. Helen Keller passed away in 1968,

leaving behind a lasting legacy of courage, determination, and advocacy.


CORY AQUINO

Corazon “Cory” Aquino was a Filipino politician who served as the 11 th

President of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female

president of the Philippines and is best known for leading the People Power

Revolution in 1986, which peacefully toppled the regime of President Ferdinand

Marcos and restored democracy in the Philippines. Aquino’s presidency was

marked by efforts to restore democratic institutions, promote human rights, and

address social and economic issues. She passed away in 2009, but her legacy as

an icon of democracy and a symbol of Filipino resilience continues to inspire

people around the world.


OPRA

Oprah Winfrey, often referred to simply as Oprah, is an American media

executive, television producer, talk show host, actress, author, and

philanthropist. She is best known for her hugely successful talk show, “The

Oprah Winfrey Show,” which aired for 25 years from 1986 to 2011. Winfrey has

been recognized for her influence and impact on popular culture, and she has

received numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Additionally, she is known for her philanthropic efforts, particularly in

education and child welfare. Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential and

wealthy individuals in the world.
