 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT
Often  the  medical  specialties  with  direct 
responsibilities  for  patient  care  control  a  certain 
number  of  beds  and  these  may  be  grouped 
together  in  individual  area  of  hospitals.  For 
example, the maternity units include labor rooms 
for  mothers  to  give  birth,  delivery  rooms,  a 
newborn  nursery,  and  hospital  rooms  for  new 
mothers. Some hospitals have a specialty euipped 
nursery  for  premature  newborns  and  those  who 
need special care.
The  pediatric  unit  is  specialty  designed  for 
children, with brightly colored wall and pictures, 
and playroom for patients who are allowed out of 
bed.
The  department  of  surgery  is  in  charge  of  patients 
waiting  for  surgery  and  those  recovering  from  one. 
Its  specialties  include  operating  rooms  and  a 
recovery  room,  where  patients  are  closely  watched 
immediately  after  surgery  and  until  they  are  well 
enough to be moved back to their rooms. Critically ill 
patients may be kept at surgical intensive care unit.
The  department  of  medicine  is  charge  of  adult 
patients  with  illnesses  that  do  no  require  surgery. 
Patients  with  acute  heart  problems  are  often  cared 
for  in  a  cardiac  care  unit,  they  are  connected  to 
electrocardiograph machines so that their heartbeats 
can be monitored minute by minute.

1.   What do you know about the medical department ?
Answer : Medical department is a division of medical 
services in the hospital that offers diagnosis and 
treatment in one
2.   What is the responsibility of medical department ?
Answer : The responsibility of medical department is 
giving for patient care, control a certain number of 
bed and grouped together in hospital. For example, 
the maternity units, delivery rooms, a newborn 
nursery and hospital rooms for new mothers.
3.   What a part in the medical department ?
Answer : The pediatric unit, the department of 
surgery, the department of medicine.
