WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING?
-It is the gradual increase of the temperature of
the Earth’s atmosphere.
Is Global Warming Natural?
The Earth’s temperature has been
ever-changing. But the rate at which
it is happening is unprecedented.
How Serious is this problem?
Increase in the
Global
Temperature
The average global
temperature has risen
by approximately
0.6˚C per century
since the late 19th
Century.
Temperature Difference in
the Atmosphere
-Troposphere Temperatures
collected since 1979 have also shown
signs of warming.
-The Stratosphere temperatures
have been decreasing.
Not Globally Uniform Warming
Parts of North America and Eurasia have been warming
whereas parts of the Southeastearn US have been showing
signs of cooling.
Rising of Sea Levels
-Sea Levels have risen at an
average rate of 1-2 millimeters per
year over the past 100 years.
