CONDITIONS OF THE PROJECT FOR
THE INTEROCEANIC CANAL.
• The law mentions the exclusive concession in favor to the
investor (HKND Group, represented by Chinese businessman
Wang Jing) and associates for the development and operation
of each sub-project for a period of 50 years as soon as the
commercial operations of the Nicaragua Canal take place.
• This 50-year lease is subject to extension ( renewable for another
50 years)
• Nicaragua will only have 1% of authority, but this percentage
will raise 10% every 10 years.
• The law number 800 extends all content in the law 840.

THE CANAL IN HISTORY.
The idea of a canal using our lake and our
rivers dates back to the XIX century when
Napoleon III wrote an article about San Juan
river and its potential. This provoked interest
in many countries such as France, United
Kingdom, Germany, and the United States.
In 2004 the goverment started thinking about
a Project of Canal, but there was not any
investor and many environmentalists did not
allow it. But on June 13th 2013 the congress
accepted the construction of a canal that
will last 15 years and it will cost 40,000 million
of dollars.

The Canal of Panama ( inaugurated on August 15th, 1914.
• Other examples are: the
canal of Suez, the canal of
Kiel, the canal of Greece
and Saint Lawrence Seaway.
On June 13, 2013 the National Assembly of
Nicaragua gave HKND Group, represented
by Wang Jing, who resides in Hong Kong, a
50-year concession for the rights to build a
canal.

president and largest shareholder of Beijing
Xinwei Telecom Technology Co., with a 37%
