Frost graduated from Lawrence High School
and then enrolled at Harvard College. But, he
was there for two years only.
The editors state that "Frost's best work explores
fundamental questions of existence, depicting with
chilling starkness and the loneliness of the individual
in an indifferent universe."

Frost had planned to recite an original poem he wrote for

poor weather; he was unable to read his copy of the
poem. Instead he recited,” The Gift Outright” from
memory.
