What Is Cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten,
embarrass, or target another person. Online threats and mean,
aggressive, or rude texts, tweets, posts, or messages all count. So
does posting personal information, pictures, or videos designed to
hurt or embarrass someone else.
Cyberbullying also includes photos, messages, or pages that
don't get taken down, even after the person has been asked to do
so. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or
online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view,
participate in, or share content. other words, it's anything that
gets posted online and is meant to hurt, harass, or upset someone
else.

What Are Effects Of
Cyberbullying?
For many cyber bullying affects their everyday lives and is a constant source
of distress and worry. With mobile technology being so freely available it is
an ongoing issue and one that is relentless. Not only does it go on after
school, college or work has finished, but it then carries through into the next
day and the cycle continues. It has been well documented that cyber bullying
has resulted in tragic events including:
• Low self-esteem
• Suicide
• Withdrawal from family and spending a lot of time alone
• Reluctance to let parents or other family members anywhere near their
mobiles, laptops, etc.
More needs to be done in order to protect vulnerable children and adults from
online bullying.
