What is direct marketing ?

• Direct marketing is a promotional method


that involves presenting information about
your company, product, or service to your
target customer without the use of an
advertising middleman.
OR
• The business of selling products or services
directly to the public, e.g. by mail order or
telephone selling, rather than through
retailers
DIRECT MARKETING
• Businesses and organizations directly communicate to
its targeted customers by using media like E-mail ,
SMS, website, newspaper, magazine advertisement
etc.

• Direct marketing does not involve advertisement


placed on the TV, or over the radio.

• Direct marketing is EFFECTIVE for promoting


company’s products or services by eliminating
retailers which saves cost as well as time.

• Session cookies are created temporarily in your

Persistent cookies
• Persistent cookie files remain in your browser's
subfolder and are activated again once you visit the
website that created that particular cookie.

• Electronic mail, or email, is a method of exchanging
digital messages between people using digital devices
such as computers, mobile phones and other
electronics by using internet.

• E-mail messages are usually encoded in ASCII text.


However, you can also send non-text files, such as
graphic images and sound files, as attachments.

• Emails are transmitted between two dedicated server
folders: sender and recipient. A sender saves, sends
or forwards email messages, whereas a recipient
reads or downloads emails by accessing an email
server.

• You can also send the same message to several


users at once. This is called broadcasting.

• Viral marketing is a business strategy that uses
existing social networks and other technologies to
promote a product.

• Its name refers to how consumers spread information


about a product with other people in their social
networks, much in the same way that a virus spreads
from one person to another.

• Viral marketing may take the form of video clips,
interactive Flash games, brand able
software, images, text messages, email messages,
or web pages.

• For example, One of the famous example of Viral


marketing is Ice Bucket Challenge introduced in social
network sites.
