General Hints – phone calls


• Switch your phone to silent mode: Press and hold the # key.
• Turn speakerphone on and off during a call: Press the Menu
soft key. Select Speakerphone On or Off.
• Switch between Normal and Silent notification profiles: Press
and hold the # key (Silent) to switch to the Silent profile.
• Manage a second call: If a person is trying to call you when you
are talking on the phone, a notification pop-up is displayed. Press the
Accept soft key to answer the second call and put the first on hold.
To switch back and forth between the two callers, press the Swap
soft key. To end the second call and go back to the first, press the
End soft key.
• Mute/Unmute while on a call: While on a call, simply press the
Left soft key to mute and, then press the same to unmute your
conversation. This is great to use during a conference call.

General Hints – misc.


• Host conference call: Simply make a call, and when the first party is on the
line, make a second call by keying in the number. When the second party
answers the call, press the Menu soft key and then highlight Conference.
Repeat these steps for each additional party you would like to include in your
conference call. Maximum of five participants and an originator are supported.
• Access applications while on a call: To open an application, press the back
key to return to the Home screen. Then press the Start soft key and navigate to
the application.
• Home Key: Press to access the Home Screen from anywhere. Press and hold
to open the Task Manager.
• Send/Speakerphone Key
• Press to dial the number indicated on the display.
• Press once to open the Recent Call log.
• Press and hold to initiate the most recent call from the Recent Call log.
• During a call, press and hold to switch to speakerphone.
• During a call, quick press to place the call on hold or un-hold.

On the home screen, just start to type!
The BJII automatically goes into contact search mode and tries to
locate the person or phone number you are entering. If it does not
find the name, it prompts you to launch a Global Address Book
search (“Company Directory”) and you can enter the name of the
person you wish to locate.

General Hints - attachments


• Download attachment: Select ‘Get entire message and any
attachments’ in an open message, or press the Menu soft key and
select Download Message. It will be downloaded the next time you
synchronize or connect to your email server.
• View attachment: Select the attachment in an open message.
• Find saved attachment: Use the File Explorer to find a
downloaded attachment that you have saved on your phone. The File
Explorer program allows you to open an Explorer window similar to a
desktop Windows-based system. The Explorer window allows you to
navigate through your phone to locate the desired folders and files.
To access File Explorer, press the Start soft key. Select More >
Applications > File Explorer.

Tethering

• Setting up your BJII as a modem to enable web access for your laptop
• KEY: you will need the USB cable (that came with the BJII) to connect your
device to the laptop. Do not tether using Bluetooth.
• Install AT&T ACM Communication Mgr. V6.8 on the laptop
• Go into settings on the BJII and set up a modem connection
• Start > Settings > More > Connections > USB – press right side of round scroll wheel
to move between options…stop at “modem”. > press soft key “Done” at bottom of
screen to set choice, then press “Home” key to get to home screen.
• Tethering 1-2-3
• 1: Connect the BJII to the laptop with the USB cable
• 2: Launch ACM V6.8
• Wait until you see a signal strength indicator and “Connect” appear in the ACM
window
• 3: Click “Connect” to start the web browsing session
• To end the session, click “Disconnect” on the ACM window.

Note: connecting the BJII to the laptop with the USB cable will trickle charge the BJII battery.
