WINDOW AIR CONDITIONING
WORKING PRINCIPLE
COMPONENTS OF WINDOW AC
INSTALLATION OF WINDOW AC
• Measure the length and width of the room
• Measure the size of the window where to install ac approx. 65*45 cm
• Window must have suitable strength to withstand the ac
• The power socket should be near to ac
• Matching of serial no and slip with the package has to be done
• Lay down a mat and unbox the package
• Match and put the components one by one from package on mat
• Please ensure that all the components are in good condition

MAINTENANCE OF WINDOW AC
• General Observation
• Maintenance Of Refrigerant Piping
• Maintenance Of Blower Fan
• Check Electrical Components
• Maintenance Of Condenser And Compressor
• Inspection And Testing After Maintenance
MAINTENANCE OF WINDOW AC
General Observation

 Checking AC working

 Check the power supply with multimeter

 Checking Of Condenser Drain Pipe clearance by opening the pipe and pouring water

 Clean The Air Filter by opening the front grill with brush

 Observe The Operation Of Window AC

MAINTENANCE OF REFRIGERANT PIPING

• Taking out the internal unit from the

cabinet
• Check The Refrigerant Piping For
Leakage by Electronic detector
• Move the detector along with the
copper pipe line
• Any leakage of refrigerant blinks the
detector
• Mark the point and pierce the pipe
with piercing tool
• For sealing the leakage use easy seal
which get solid in air
Maintenance Of Blower Fan
• Check Blower Alignment With Motor Shaft
• Rotate blower manually
• If blower is wobbling tighten the shaft allen
screw
• Check
• Check Blower Motor Smooth Operation for
blower damage
• Check The Current Drawn By Blower Motor
by using multimeter
Check Electrical Components
• Check The Thermostat Operation located in
evaporator
• Take out the control box by opening side plate
• Connect the main switch on
• Put the temp control in coolest setting
• With multimeter in volt setting check the
thermostat terminal it display 0.0 means it is
good
• If meter tells above zero than thermostat is
faulty
Check Electrical Components

• Check The Power Supply and fuse with

multimeter

• Check the earthing connection screws

• Connection of terminal should be tight

Maintenance Of Condenser And Compressor
• Clean the condenser fins regularly
with brush or vacuum cleaner
• Check the compressor terminal
connection and its insulation
• Check the current drawn by
compressor by using clamp meter it
must show 10-11 amp
• Alignment of condenser fan by
checking O-ring

• Maintenance of Split AC
INTRODUCTION TO SPLIT AC
A split air conditioner consists of two main parts:
The outdoor unit and the indoor unit.
• The outdoor unit
 The outdoor unit is installed on or near the wall outside of the room or space
that you wish to cool.
This unit houses the compressor, condenser coil and the expansion coil or
capillary tubing.
• The indoor unit
The indoor unit is installed inside the space or room where we want to cool it
This unit houses the evaporator, blower fan, remote control unit, air filter.

Indoor Unit Installation
• The wall should be strong enough to take the load of ac
• The wall clearance should be 1 foot from side, 6 inch from top
And 7.5 feet from the ground
• The maximum distance from indoor and outdoor is 15m
• Take out the appliances from the package and put on the mat
• Match the components
