ABSTRACT
• A new maximum power point tracker called fractional order
extremum seeking control for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV)
systems tasks to better accommodate rapid varying solar
irradiance for photovoltaic (PV) arrays.
• The new algorithm is benchmarked against the integer order
extremum seeking control and incremental conductance
algorithms.
• Our extensive simulation results show the proposed MPPT has
faster convergence speed in comparison to IO and IC algorithm
and also less total harmonic distortion (THD) in the injected
current to the grid.
INTRODUCTION
• A grid-connected PV system, which is the most
popular form of renewable energy systems, is made
up of three major components;
1. PV panels
2. An interface to boost the generated DC voltage
and inverter to convert the energy to AC power
3. Inject it to the grid
