Tiniguiban Heights Baptist Church (THBC) is a church-

boarding house located at PSU Road, Tiniguiban, Puerto

Princesa City. Being a boarder in this place comes with a
lot of things to comply to. Tita Dam, the owner of the
boarding house, has put many rules to be followed by
boarders in order for the latter to be able to stay in THBC.
Some of the rules implemented are the no-dating rule, no-
going-out-or-coming-in-beyond-10-pm rule, and atten-
dingdevotion-regularly rule. Violating these rules may result
to getting kicked out of the boarding house.
THBC management claims to be having two goals for
the students who are living in this place: one, for them to
graduate and two, for them to have an eternal life. There
are many spiritual activities being done in this institution:
devotions, prayer meetings, youth fellowships, Sunday
schools, worship services, and gospel hours. In every
devotion, there is a checking of attendance. It is the
management’s way to get the boarders attend the said
activity regularly.
However, not all boarders do agree to this rule. The
religion being promoted in this place is Baptist, and not all
boarders bear this religion. It surfaces that some boarders
are being forced to attend religious activities being done
in this institution.
This investigation intends to answer the following questions:

a. If there would be no checking of attendance, would

boarders attend devotions regularly?

b. What are the reasons why boarders would still attend

devotions regularly?

c. What is the biggest reason that would make the

boarders attend devotions regularly?
This investigation intends to answer the following questions:

d. What things would hinder the boarders from

attending devotions regularly?

e. What is the reason that hinders the most the boarders

from attending devotions regularly?
This investigation is limited only to boarders of Tiniguiban
Heights Baptist Church(THBC) at 2018. The information
needed was gathered through interviewing the
respondents individually. The investigator used a checklist
style self-made questionnaire in gathering the data. All
information and conclusions drawn from this investigation
were obtained only through this particular group of
