 Introduction

 The current planning application is proposed new hospital on Canal road.

 The 50,000 square metre health facility will have an increased number of inpatient beds
and a range of support services and outpatient clinics. An enlarged multi-storey car park
in Patriotic Street will link directly to the new hospital building.
 The emergency department and radiology service will be on the ground floor, with
outpatient facilities, and women’s and children’s units on the first floor, and operating
theatres above that.
 Four levels of public and private in-patient wards will be make up the top four storeys.
 The first clinical areas are due to open in 2022 and the hospital is expected to be fully
operational by 2026. It’s designed to be able to expand according to need and to
provide services to 2065.
 Why we need hospital ?

 The provision of a safe, sustainable and affordable health care

system and hospital facilities is essential to address ageing
population and increasing demand.
Plan for new hospital:
