MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR
(MBTI)
is a self-inventory test
designed to identify a
person’s personality type,
strengths, and preferences.
Personality assessment and
evaluation is helpful for
handling others and for
understanding oneself. It can
give away to classify different
characteristics that a person
might not be aware of.
Read both sets of descriptions
and write down the personality
list that describes you better.
CHARACTERISTICS OF
PERSONALITY “PREFERENCE”
Extroverts’ energy
- directed outward toward people
and things outside of themselves
Introvert’s energy
- directed inward toward their own
thoughts, perceptions, and
reactions.
Sensors
- know the facts, details, and
realities of the things around
them
Intuitors
- know the relationships between
facts and their meaning or
possibilities and information
Thinkers
- focus their decisions based on
objectives that make sense and
are logical.
Feelers
- focus their decisions based on
one’s values and how they feel
about the given options.
Judgers
- show a structured personality
and want to have things
settled.
Perceivers
- show a personality that keeps
options open.
Study other characteristics of

one wants different things in
life, and differs in his or her
motives, purposes, goals,
values, needs, and desires.
*Behaviors are different.
* Uniqueness can be a source of
conflict when dealing w/others.
*Personality is deeply-rooted in

close to us.
*Accepting them is an essential
step in building a healthy
harmonious relationship.
You will be divided into six groups.
Each group will be assigned of the
different personality types
(Realistic, Investigative, Artistic,
Social, Enterprising and
Conventional). Present and
explain it in front of the class and
be able to give examples.

Types
1. Realistic - practical
- Strong-willed and interested in
machines and inventions
- Tend to avoid situations requiring
sensitivity to their own feelings or
others
Examples: agriculturist, architect,
athlete
2. Investigative - Concerned with
science, math, and theory
- Avoid social, political, and business
activities
- Prefer to “think through” problems
than to “act out”
- Intelligent, scholarly, persistent, high
educational goals
Examples: surgeon, economist
3. Artistic
- artistic, musical and literary
interests
- Original, imaginative, emotional,
sensitive, creative, shy, quiet, and
introverted
Examples: artist, writer, musician
4. Social - Strong social interests and
prefer teaching or therapeutic roles
- responsible and adept at forming
interpersonal relationships
- Relate well to other people
- Warm, persuasive, dependent,
sensitive, and enthusiastic
Examples: babysitter, nurse, social
worker
5. Enterprising – dominant,
enthusiastic, energetic, sociable,
cheerful, impulsive, and adventurous
- Similar to social types but more
persuasive than helpful
- Enjoy power, prefer social interaction
and dislike well-defined work
situations – strong leader
Examples: insurance agent, realtor
6. Conventional – practical, persistent,
orderly, inflexible, hardworking, and
conservative
- Prefer structured, verbal, and numerical
activities, prefer subordinate rather than
leadership roles
- Achieve their goals by conforming with or
living by the rules
- Quiet, careful, responsible, well-organized
