SYSTEM
PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
BASIC LITERACY PROGRAM (BLP)

BLP is an intensive community-based training for


illiterate out-of-school youth and adults, who
are willing to learn basic skills.
FAMILY BASIC LITERACY PROJECT (FBLP)

FBLP is a literacy service learning intervention


utilizing literate family member to help non-
literate members upgrade their literacy skills
and improve the educational opportunities of
poor families.
ALS MOBILE TEACHER PROGRAM

ALS Mobile Teacher Program makes education


accessible to out-of-school youth and adults in
the remote, deprived, depressed and
underserved (DDU) difficult to reach
communities.
ADOLESCENT FRIENDLY LITERACY
ENHANCEMENT PROJECT (AFLEP)

AFLEP provides target learners aged 10-24


years old with basic literacy about early
marriage and parenting, family planning, drug
prevention education, livelihood projects, health
education and environmental education.
BALIK PAARALAN PARA SA OUT-OF-SCHOOL
ADULTS (BP-OSA)

BP-OSA is a non-formal education program for


the elementary and secondary level of out-of-
school youth and adults delivered in selected
elementary and secondary school teachers
serving as Instructional Managers (IMs).
RADIO-BASED INSTRUCTION (RBI)

RBI is an alternative delivery mode of ALS


Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) that uses
radio broadcast through local community radio
stations.
Target learners are out-of-school youth and
adults in the communities within the broadcast
area.
ESKWELA PROJECT

eSkwela Project is designed to provide eLearning


opportunities to Filipino Out-of-School youth and adults
who were not able to avail the opportunities laid by the
formal school system and would like to finish their basic
education, where interactive computer-based multimedia
learning resources will be the primary source of
instruction.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES EDUCATION
PROJECT (IP)

Indigenous Peoples Education is an ALS project that


addresses the immediate needs, interests, and
aspirations of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) through
the implementation of culturally appropriate and
rights-based ALS programs/projects.
INFORMAL EDUCATION (INFED)

InfEd is an education activity that addresses the


special needs and interest of the marginalized
and other interest groups of learners, making
use of the life skills approach for personal
development.
ALS FOR DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PERSONS
(ALS-DAP)

ALS-DAP is a special project that delivers ALS


program to differently-abled out-of-school
youth and adults through specialized
approaches.
ARABIC LANGUAGE AND ISLAMIC VALUES
EDUCATION (ALIVE)
ALIVE is a new approach of delivering ALS program to
the Muslims OSYs and adults. The program provides
core learning with additional Islamic concerns consisting
of Arabic language and Islamic values in the learning
experiences of Muslim learners.
The Facilitators for Arabic language are trained Imams or
Asatidz while the facilitators for Islamic Values Education
are trained ALS implementers.
ACCREDITATION AND EQUIVALENCY
PROGRAM (A&E)
A&E Program is a program aimed at providing an
alternative pathway of learning for out-of-school
children, youth and adults who are basically literate
but who have not completed the 10 years of basic
education mandated by the Philippine Constitution.
Through this program, school dropouts are able to
complete elementary and high school education
outside the formal school system
WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED IN THE
ALS?
The ALS utilizes learning modules. It contains
the objectives and description of the module,
learning activities, pre and post tests.
