• Most IT firms are workforce intensive as well as Low margin industries and hence, a clear indication
on high Employee cost can be observed.

• Manufacturing firms have higher costs invested in Assets. They have a comparatively low workforce b
ase when compared to IT and that explains the least employee costs

• Pharmaceuticals on the other hand is an industry where there are few players who focus on Cost effe
ctiveness and few on Innovation. This explains to a certain extent why Novartis is spending more comp
ared to other pharma companies
