AICHI PREFECTURE

 The Aichi prefectural region was divided into 2 provinces, i.e.: -


Owari and Mikawa.
 1)In 1968, after the Meji restoration Owari and Mikawa were united
into one region.
 2)In 1871, after the aboliation of the han system (prefecture System),
Owari, with the exception of the Chita peninsula, was established as
the Nagoya Prefecture. Then in April, 1872, it was named as the
Aichi Prefecture. On the 27th of November of the same year it
combined with the Nakuta Prefecture.
 3)Located near the center of the Japanese main island of Honshu,
 4) To the south and borders Shizuoka Prefecture to the east, Nagano
Prefecture to the northeast, Gifu Prefecture to the north, and Mie
Prefecture to the west. 1,415 m above sea level.


Thirty-eight cities are located in Aichi Prefecture.
