Pendahuluan
Indonesia :
 Depnakertrans : Lembar data Keselamatan Bahan ( LDKB)
Jepang : “ Material safety data sheet”
USA : “Material Safety Data Sheet “
Eropa : “ Safety Data Sheet”

Situasi Di Indonesia : ???

Berdasarkan hal ini lah , tersedianya lembar data keselamatan bahan / MSDS
menjadi tugas yang penting.
International trends
In June 1992, the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development
was held, at which the Human Behaviour Plan for Sustainable Development
(Agenda 21) was adopted.

Chapter 19 of Agenda 21
Environmentally Sound Management Of Toxic Chemicals, Including Prevention Of
Illegal International Traffic in Toxic And Dangerous Products.
•Expanding and accelerating international assessment of chemical risks
•Harmonization of classification and labeling of chemicals
•Information exchange on toxic chemicals and chemicals risks
•Establishment of risk reduction programs
•Strengthening of national capabilities and capacities for management of
chemicals
•Prevention of illegal international traffic in toxic and dangerous products
•Strengthening international corporation

Storage Of Chemicals
• Info sources: MSDS, label or references
• Considerations: temperature, ignition control,
ventilation, segregation
• Segregation - to prevent incompatible
materials from coming into contact
• Should not by simple alphabetical order:
– Acetic acid and acetaldehyde may bring about polymerization reaction
– Copper (II) sulfide and cadmium chlorate may be explosive when mixed

Corrosive liquid, flammable, N.O.S. Danger
(2-methyl tetramethylenexxxxx) Causes severe skin burns and
serious eye damage
Highly flammable liquid and vapour
Avoid contact with skin and eyes
Keep away from heat and ignition
sources
First aid:
For skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area thoroughly with water.
