INTRODUCTION
 Workplace violence refers to incidents where workers are abused,
threatened or assaulted, either by people from within or outside
their workplace
Workplace violence may have severe negative consequences for the
workers affected, their co-workers and families; as well as for
organisations and the society.
The aim of this article is to: present a conceptual framework of the
phenomenon; outline and discuss the main types and antecedents to
workplace violence; and, finally, provide an informed commentary on
the methods and practices used to manage and, moreover, prevent this
work-related issue.
DEFINITION
VIOLENCE: Any verbal, physical or psychological threat of assault on an
individual that has the intention or results in physical and/or psychological
damage.
Workplace: A workplace may be any location either permanent or
temporary where an employee performs any work-related duty.
INTERNAL WORKPLACE VIOLENCE
 IS THAT WHICH TAKES PLACE BETWEEN WORKERS,INCLUDING MANAGERS AND ENGINEERS.

EXTERNAL WORLPLACE VIOLENCE


 IS THAT WHICH TAKES PLACE BETWEEN WORKERS,(MANAGERS AND ENGINEERS) AND ANY OTHER PERSON
