CLHORAMPHENICOL DRUGS

DEFENITION

Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic
used to treat infections caused
by bacteria. Chloramphenicol
drugs are usually also used as
eye drops to treat conjunctivitis
(red eyes).
Side efects

 enterocolitis

 gag
 bone marrow suppression
 aplastic anemia
 peripheral neuropathy
 optic neuritis
 gray syndrome

How to use the drugs??

1. For those of you whose dropsor syringes


make sure the drug is sealed and is not
cloudy.
2. If you are experiencing an eye infection, it
is advisable to use sunglasses to protect
your eyes while doing activities outside
the home, especially during the day.
Chloramphenicol dose

Eye drops: 1 drop every 2 hours per
day, with an initial dose of 0.5%. The
dosage can be increased according to
the patient's condition. It is
recommended to continue treatment
for 48 hours after the condition
improves.
