Background Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta
• Renal artery stenosis (RAS) is one of the pathologic condition giving rise to renovascular
hypertension (RVH) in children.
• Angioplasty with or without stenting is considered an effective treatment for RVH in
children, when medical treatments fail.

Objective
• To present a case bilateral endovascular stent placement
Case
• A 9-years old boy presented with RVH caused by bilateral RAS with normal kidney function.
• Echocardiography revealed dilated cardiomyopathy.
• Patient were treated with oral antihypertensive and inotropic agent with poor response.
• Bilateral renal artery stenosis were identified on Magnetic Resonance Angiography.
• Heart catheterization and percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty (PTRA) with
endovascular stent placement were performed.

stenosis renal artery procedure and stent placement stent placement
Conclusion
• There was significant decrease of blood pressure after PTRA.
• Long term evaluation is needed for efficacy and complication monitoring for any possibility
of restenosis.

Background

•Infective endocarditis (IE) remains as a significant health problem, especially in

developing countries. It often causes prolonged hospitalization, often resulting in high
mortality and morbidity. There have been few case series of the clinical profiles of IE in
Indonesia
Objective
• To describe clinical profiles of infective endocarditis in children

Methods
•We retrospectively review the medical records of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital,
Jakarta to identify IE patients admitted between the period of 2009 and 2013. Clinical
characteristics, treatment, and outcomes are sought and described.

Result

•During the study period, there are 17 patients (1 month-12 years) diagnosed with IE with average hospital
