Media Arts club is sponsoring a Screenwriting contest. •The contest advocates for the increased awareness of media as a discipline and as a tool for promoting Rizal High School, while allowing the expression of the contestants’ perspective as to what film/cinematography is. Hence, screenwriters are collaboratively helpful in producing successful screenplays. •The contest is open to all Junior and Senior Rizal High School students. Contestants are encouraged to write promotional and inspiring script. The topic/theme for the contest will be announced during the orientation day. The competition is open to a bonafide student of Rizal High School, Grades 9 to 12.
The contest can be in solo, duo, or trio.
The submission of entries: • Contestants will be given 7 days to finish the write up. • Orientation will be on July 22, 2019 (Monday) • Last date of Submission will be on July 29, 2019 at 11:59pm (Monday) Only entries submitted in correct and complete specifications and formats will be considered as official entries. Please study the following requirements to make sure that your entry will be compliant: a. Entries must strictly adhere to the competition theme. b. Each individual/duo/trio/ should submit only one (1) entry. c. Entries must be written in 15 to 50 pages. Font is Courier size 12. d. Entries should be saved in Msword or PDF format. e. An entry must be written in Filipino.
f. Script must be the original work of the author/s and on the date of submission must be wholly owned and controlled by the author(s). If a script has been sold, is currently under optioned, the script is not eligible for an award. g. Only original screenplays are eligible for awards. Novels, short stories, stage plays, treatments, synopses, reality show concepts, scripts for existing TV series and adaptations of such are not accepted in the contest. Scripts that have previously won a prize are also ineligible. h. Copies of the competition Mechanics and Entry forms may be obtained from Ms. Royce Divine M. Individuals related up to third degree of
consanguinity or affinity to any of the Judges or MAC staff are not allowed to join the competition. Judging of entries will be held on _______ at AVR, AMANG BUILDING. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and cannot be contested. The winners will be informed by the English Teacher, phone call and grade level member. The winners for the Screenwriting contest shall receive a copy of the SCRIPT, MEDAL AND CERTIFICATE. Also the winning copy will be the official script for film making contests. Awarding ceremony is on November 2019. Certificate of participation is awarded to all participants. Media ARTS CLUB shall be the sole owner of and shall have exclusive rights to all entries. By joining the contest, the contestant is considered to have granted Media Arts Club permission or license to use the scripts, along with the names of the authors, for various publications and marketing collaterals of the MAC, and for other legal purposes.
