Could Menopause keep women out of top jobs?
By Domini Stuart: The CEO Magazine.

• Last month, the Guardian reported that British MPs are pushing for compulsory
workplace policies to protect women going through the menopause. Some want
to pass legislation to force through the reforms.

• Few women would argue against stigmatizing as a taboo that wraps sexism and
ageism into one neat parcel. But, taken out of context, the bad-news stories
used to support the cause can give the impression that no female aged between
45 and 60 is capable of making a rational decision.

• Will shining a light on menopause give women appropriate understanding and

support? Or will focusing on the symptoms create yet another hurdle for
middle-aged women with the ambition, talent and capability to lead?
IMPACT:
The British Government wants compulsory policies to protect menopausal
women in the workplace in order to curb out discriminatory practice on
woman to vent in business organization.
Women in Leadership Summit 2019 takes action
against gender inequality
By Holly Johnson: CEO Magazine
• According to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. Australia’s full-time
gender pay gap sits at 14 per cent, with women earning on average A$241.50
per week less than men.

• Therefore, this year’s theme is Take Action – encouraging women to lead the
way and create their own opportunities while the rest of the world catches up.

• More companies than ever before are making commitments to gender equality,
but this commitment doesn’t always translate into action.

Resolution
A. More women in leadership positions doesn’t mean women have to start
acting like men, instead they should embrace self-empowerment.
B. Gender diversity is not about pitting men against women, but
instead working together to find balance.
New Tech platform connects global female
Entrepreneurs.
By Lisa Smyth: The CEO Magazine
• The gender gap in business is most often referenced in relation to the
corporate world, by counting female CEOs or the number of women sitting
on the boards of multibillion-dollar companies. Rarely has it been
addressed in terms of entrepreneurship.

• According to the Boston consultant group women-founded and co-

founded start-ups return 78% per dollar invested, compared with 31% for
those founded by men.
FEEDBACK
a. There are so many talented women in business that want to pass on
their knowledge and support the next wave of leaders especially
women.
b. With female entrepreneurship on the decline, a new tech mentorship
platform hopes to help more women access their potential and
improve female participation in business environment.
Plastic trash to Blockchain treasure: Pollution could
actually be saving the world.
By Emma Wheaton: CEO Magazine
• A garbage truck’s worth of plastic is dumped into our oceans every single
minute. There are more micro plastics in the than there are stars in the
Milky Way. The amount of plastic produced in a year is roughly equal to
the weight of humanity.
• It’s using blockchain to turn plastic trash into digital cash, making the
plastic too valuable to enter the oceans and helping to lift communities out
of poverty in the process.
• The majority of the world’s plastic waste comes from the world’s poorest
countries, where understandably their focus is on basic everyday needs, and
the infrastructure for recycling is not in placed.
SOLUTION
A. We make plastic waste a currency to stop ocean plastic.
B. Recycling of plastic waste would help curb out the disaster to climate
change.
What is an AI strategy and how do you use one?
By Craig Howe
• Whether you’re anti-AI or an AI evangelist, there's no denying the technology
is completely changing the way we work, interact and go about our lives.
• To stay competitive in an increasingly crowded marketplace, organizations are
implementing AI at scale.
• This has seen businesses move beyond simple forecasting and into detailed
anticipation of customer movements, and proactively evolving with them.

IMPACT TO THIS DEVELOPMENT

• All AI initiatives need to align with business objectives and be prioritized.
• If not properly checked and control organization over reliance on AI could
dwindle human capital development.
• Measurements may be in the form of ROI, or the customer’s user
experience.
