• Emergency is defined as a situation, which is not no
rmal, a situation which call for urgent remedial acti
on.
• The Constitution of India, envisages three types of
emergencies. The
se are-
• National Emergency (Article 352)
• State Emergency (Article 356)
• Financial Emergency (Article 360)
• Constitutionally, the expression "Proclamation of e
mergency " refers only to the proclamation made u
nder Clause (1) of Article 352. And whenever, used,
should not include the situations provided for unde
r Article 356 and Article 360.
