ILOCOS REGION
Architecture
Vigan is considered as the “ Intramuros of the North” because of
its Spanish Colonial Architecture.
Textile
Inabel is a hand weaving technique of the Ilocanos that is
produced using traditional wooden looms. The inabel design are
inspired by the natural elements.
Pottery
Burnay is an unglazed earthen jar with small opening.
It is used for storage for water and rice grains and as container
for basi and bagoong.
PANGASINAN
Weaving
The arts and crafts of Pangasinan includes
the smoothly woven Bolinao mats made
from buri or raffia leaves, and the bamboo
crafts of San Carlos.

KALINGA
Textile
The natives of Kalinga are skilled weavers, one of their products are
textile.

Basketry
Labba- bowl- shaped basket made from rattan
Tattooing
Tattooing is another form of art of Kalinga
Wang- Od is considered as the last “mambabatok” or traditional Kalinga
tattoo artist.
Ifugao
The term Ifugao means “natives of Cordillera”
Sculpture
Bul’ul is a wooden sculpture that represents the rice
granary spirits. It is usually made of narra, which
signifies wealth, happiness, and well- being to the
Ifugao.
Lingling-o/ Dinumug is the term for the amulets of
theIfugaos. It is made from jade, gold, copper,
bronze and other stone materials
MOUNTAIN PROVINCE
Textile
The province is also known for
their burial cloth, kadangyan,
woven by female elders.
Ikat is a weaving method of textile
patterns.

CAGAYAN VALLEY
Cagayan Valley is composed of the provinces of
Bataan, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Viscaya, and
Quirino. During the early times, the valley is
believed to be dominated by the elephants and
other animals that are already instinct in the
Philippines.
Fossils displayed in the National Museum
includes bones and skeletons of Pre- historic
animals.
Batanes
Ivatans are the people living in Batanes Group
of Islands. They are often visited by typhoons.
This is the reason why they learned to adapt to
the frequent weather disturbances

them from heat of the sun and during rainy
season. It is woven from vuyavuy palm.

The Gaddangs of Nueva Viscaya are
known for their crafts and textiles.
Bakwat- a belt used by mothers after
giving birth. It is usually made of white
with beads as accents and rivers as
patterns

kayas.
Firecrackers is also an arts and craftsof
Bulakenos.
Pastillas is one of the delicacies made
in the town.
PAMPANGA
It is known as the Culinary Capital
of the Philippines. It is also known
for their giant lantern or parol. Big
lantern with several sizes, shapes,
lights and colors to adorn houses
and streets.
ZAMBALES, TARLAC, NUEVA ECIJA AND BATAAN
Nueva Ecija is known for its rice production.
Tarlac and Bataan played an important role in
shaping the history and government.
Zambales is known for its mangoes and other
indigenous fruits
