EVALUATING THE

ACTIVITY

■ Evaluation is a critical part of many
community/environmental learning program. During this
phase, you evaluate whether or not you have been
successful in reaching your goals.
■ During evaluation, find ways to monitor and assess how
much participation has occurred and the results of this
participation.
Evaluation is important because it will
help do the following:
■ Proves that what you have done has had some benefit to the
community and the environment.
■ Assists you in getting further funding for your program.
■ Gives you important information and feedback for redesigning the
program.
■ Shows you what was successful and what was not so successful
about the design a d facilitation of your program.
■ Gives you a basis for reporting your success to organization, the
community and others.
Evaluation Methods
Evaluation is a final, important step in program planning. What
follows is a list of these are:

 Observation
As a facilitator, will often be able to observe how well a process or
technique has worked.
 Interviewing
After the learning program, you can also ask key people about their
impression thereof.
 Evaluation Forms
An evaluation form which is done at the end of a learning
program really evaluates the learner’s immediate reaction.

 Audits
Environmental audits can be an important way of understanding
improvements in the environments and how well environment action
has contributed to these improvements. Audits are way of measuring
the impact of our behavior.s
