 Realized that nursing never focus on the person but on systems
 She didn’t know because no one taught her how to care

 1981- attends the International Association for Human Caring in


Florida Atlantic University and meet the faculty (Jean Watson,
Madeleine Leininger, Delores Gaut, Doris Rieman, Kathleen
Valentine) who were dedicated to study caring

 Realize that there is a formal Study of Caring (Milton Mayeroff’s


work) and go beyond the study with Savina Schoenhofer
